Going through some of my files at the end of 2016, I noticed I went out on December 30th, 2015 and 2016 and shot these two images 4 minutes apart….and one year.

This was the penultimate night for racing on the UBC course for 2016. Great evening light, warm temperatures and good racing!
As usual, all these images were shot with a Fuji X-T1, XF50-140 f2.8, XF10-24 f4 and XF55-200 f3.5-4.8 lenses. Fill flash provided by a Canon 580 EX2. (click on any image below to start slideshow)
It was Tuesday night racing at the Glenlyon course in Burnaby this week. Great conditions for racing…or taking photographs. The images below were all shot with the Fuji X-T1 and the XF50-140 f2.8 or the XF10-24 f4 lens. Camera was set on jpeg using my new favourite film simulation, Classic Chrome.

I went to the 2016 edition of the Gastown race to watch and photograph the races purely for my own enjoyment. No media pass or requisite finish line photos for a magazine required. No pressure! I found a spot on Carroll at Cordova where I’ve never shot before and decided to make up for lost time…and never really left that corner.
Here is a selection of images I captured from that spot. I used a Fujifilm X-T1 paired with the XF50-140 f2.8 zoom, all shots are jpegs using the Classic Chrome film simulation. I made some very minor adjustments and cropping in Lightroom. That’s it!

Lot’s of great racing action at the Brenco Ladner Crit, part of the Tour de Delta and BC Superweek. It was a short, fast course with laps under a minute each.
