We spent a few days in the coastal city of Valparaíso in Chile to view the famous street art and murals. The old neighbourhoods, set into the steep cerros (hills), are covered in this amazing work. I’m planning to post a gallery of this art in an upcoming post. Stay tuned!
I haven’t been shooting enough, period. Yes, I take plenty of photos on my vacations and at cycling events, but there are periods of time where I’ve shot nothing. Lately I’ve read some blogs notably by Patrick La Roque, Olaf Sztaba, Thomasz Trzebiatowski (Fujilove) and Ian MacDonald and they have collectively inspired me to get out and shoot every week. I thought about a 365 day challenge but decided on “baby steps”. I live in a beautiful city with visual opportunities at every turn, and as Patrick La Roque and many others have proven, one can find inspiration very close to home. So, here goes:
Week 1 – A Pile of Rocks
Fujifilm X-T1 | 16mm f1.4 | ISO 200 | f8 @ 1/5 sec.
I found this little stream amongst a jumble of rocks The driftwood logs tossed on the rocks during a winter storm frame the stream as it makes it’s way to the sea. See image below:
