My 52 week challenge turned into a 21 Week challenge. I just couldn’t sustain this with so much going on in my non-photographic life.

Sadly there are no images from Week 19. My life was just too busy that week. To make up for it here are a few extra images from an outing I had this previous week. All photos were taken from one spot and all within 45 minutes as the sun was setting.

It was another weekend of racing, this time a “Roubaix” style race along the roads and dykes in Pitt Meadows. It rained for most of the day which helped to mimic some of the conditions often found in the Belgian spring classics.
Concentration, determination or despair…not sure which one of these he was feeling.

The weather and physical surroundings created a very Flandrian feel to the race.

More long exposure experimentation at Vancouver City Hall. It was very windy and I wasn’t sure if my tripod would remain steady with a 406 second exposure. I used 19 stops of neutral density and some post in Lightroom to achieve this result.

It was another weekend of bicycle racing, this time in Aldergrove, BC. The day was a mixed bag of brilliant sunshine and threatening clouds. The winds were strong along 0 Avenue, next to the US border and even forced riders into echelons.

I’m getting a little behind in posting my weekly photos, but rest assured, I’m still creating one each week. This past week was my first chance to test my new Formatt-Hitec 100mm filters (an attempt to standardize my filters across different lenses). I shot this one at one of my favourite spots to capture the late afternoon light and the city skyline.
Technical notes: 10 stop ND + 3 stop soft edge grad ND, 30 second exposure, processed entirely in On1 2018 software. Anamorphic crop (2.39:1)
